Tips for Living in Norway
Accommodation and Costs
Unfortunately, we cannot provide accommodation directly, but we actively support you in finding suitable housing.
Average accommodation costs in Molde and the surrounding region are approximately 5,000–6,000 NOK per month for a shared double room, plus electricity. A deposit of one to three months’ rent is usually required.
Recommended housing platforms: www.rubrikk.no, www.finn.no, www.hybel.no.
Taxes and Formalities
Information about taxes can be found at the Norwegian Tax Administration (Skatteetaten).
Foreign employees may choose the so-called “kildeskatt” (withholding tax). Special regulations apply, including taxation of holiday pay. Changes cannot be made retrospectively, so we strongly recommend informing yourself in advance.
