From the meeting point the bus will take us through the beautiful area outside Åndalsnes, to the land of the trolls. Throughout this excursion our guide will share many interesting facts and fascinating stories with you.
The tour starts with a 15-minute drive to the famous Troll Wall, the tallest vertical rock face in Europe, about 1,100 metres from its base to the summit. The views from the overhanging ledge are incredible and worthwhile . On the return journey we will see the Rauma Railway which runs beside the road leading us back towards Åndalsnes.
We continue through Isterdal Valley before we will drive up the famous serpentine Trollstigen Road with 11-hairpin bends in total – and be sure to watch out for the Trolls now! At the bottom of the road there will be a photo stop in the valley to admire the lovely, cascading 590-foot Stigfossen Waterfall. On the top of the road there will be some free time at Trollstigen Plateau to admire the road and enjoy magnificent views of the wild, unspoilt mountains and the Isterdal Valley.
The next highlight will be a stop at the scenic canyon of Gudbrandsdjuvet before we will reach the fairytale valley of Valldal, famous for its delicious strawberries from about July to August and – at the right time – if you are lucky – you will be able to taste them. On our way to Stordal we will pass the old Rose Church (built in 1789) and drive along Storfjord to Sjøholt – a part of Møre og Romsdal – which is especially known for the furniture industry. Via Ørskog Mountain we will come to Vestnes where we have to take the ferry towards Molde.
After a short city tour our excursion ends at the harbour of Molde, the town of Roses and Jazz.
